The Sunflower Cult is the culmination of a rather rough idea regarding spirituality that eventually blossomed into a perpetually ongoing artistic collaboration.
The concept for the Sunflower Cult emerged from random ideas being thrown together during a brainstorming session between the two original founding members.
The most ridiculous, far-fetched assumptions about cults were loosely put together & what emerged from this buffoonery were a series of artistic video works and performances umbrellaed under the name ‘Sunflower Cult’.
At the time, the main performer was known and referred to as the ‘Great Grand Leader’.
Founded in 2006, the Cult has flourished into something unpredictable, unclassifiable, and downright confusing. (Yet charming enough to have gained a devoted following)
